General Definition:
This is an hourly, temporary part-time data entry position performing complex data entry work.
Work involves independent handling of a variety of data entry processes related to water in regard to the lead and copper regulations.
Some work is done in response to requests for services from the public, staff, council, or other government offices.
Work is performed independently within established policies and procedures.
Completed work is reviewed by the Borough Manager, the immediate supervisor, for effectiveness in carrying out the Borough requirements.
Typical Examples of Duties (Illustrative Only):
Ensuring appropriate turnaround time on all data entry.
Reviewing and entering data information into appropriate data bases Proactively verifying data through source documents Monitoring and updating existing data when required.
Retrieving data for the Borough Manager upon request Perform data searches.
Comply with security backups and regular checkups to ensure the safety of data being stored Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to take direction both written and verbally.
Accurate typing and data entry skills Excellent attention to detail Communications and organizational skills Knowledge of basic computer programs Excellent customer service and communications skills Excellent time management skills Ability to operate basic office equipment.
Knowledge of English grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
Knowledge of standard office procedures, practices, conduct and actions necessary in maintaining harmonious working relationships.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and the public.
Knowledge of the types, organization and use of standard office files, logs, forms, and letter formats.
Skill in using a typewriter console at a minimum speed rate of 40 words per minute.
Ability to proof-read information for conformance with a prescribed pattern or form, to assure the adherence to clerical office methods, or for compliance with specific administrative or procedural rules.
Ability to understand and follow detailed oral and written instructions.
Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations.
Ability to learn geographic details, boundaries.
Ability to act quickly and calmly in emergency situations.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
Ability to maintain confidentiality with respect to all Borough business.
Minimum Experience and Training:
1.
Education equivalent to completion of the twelfth school grade.
2.
At least Three (3) years of Data entry experience.
3.
Any additional experience, training, or education classes which provides the required knowledge and abilities.

Office 365 Personal Skills Required:
Ability to effectively communicate verbally, in person and over the phone, and in writing.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, supervisors, Borough officials, public works, contractors, engineers, property owners and the public.
Ability to enforce regulations firmly and tactfully.
Detail oriented and self-motivated.
Ability to work with other employees and individually.
